It's crazy how life as we know it can change in an instant.  Karen "G"was diagnosed with what her doctors believe to be an intraventricular meningioma, which is a type of brain tumor, during the first week of July 2008. You can visit Karen's web site ,which was set up by her daughter,  at the link below. Please sign her guest book while you are there. Thanks to all in advance.

Hoorah! She made it out of surgery. We just met with her surgeon about an hour ago and she said she did very well. Dr. Pollack got all of the tumor that she could see, which is great. They will do a CT scan tonight and a MRI tomorrow to see if she got it all. The initial tissue sampling shows that it was a meningioma, as they had thought. They also didn't see anything that looked "scary" or suspicious of malignancy, but the pathophysiology won't be back for 7 to 10 days for a definite diagnosis.

She is still sleeping. Dr. Pollack allows her patients to wake up naturally from the anesthesia, so we don't know how long that may take.

Good news after a long day! Now if we can just get her to wake up and see that positive attitude still shining through, we'll be able to go home and get some sleep to prepare for the days ahead. : )

Thanks so much for all of your support and prayers. It is working!
