SUPPLEMENTAL OUTREACH INITIATIVES FEBRUARY 1, 2007 – JANUARY 31, 2008

1st Initiative

As part of our supplemental outreach initiative KGGF-KUSN participated in the Southeast Kansas Career and Job Fair held July 30, 2007, 3pm – 8pm on the campus of Coffeyville Community College. The event attracted prospective employees to visit directly with employers concerning current as well as anticipated openings and career opportunities. The station employment unit participated in, assisted with the organization of, promoted and co-sponsored the Southeast Kansas Job Fair. Co-sponsors of the event along with KGGF-KUSN, Inc. included the Southeast Kansas Human Resources Association, Coffeyville Community College, Montgomery County Action Council and the Kansas Department of Commerce. Station personnel involved with this event included John Leonard, General Manager, Ron Curran, Karen Goss, Sally Gill and Anna Bolinger

2nd initiative

KGGF-KUSN conducts an on-going internship program through Field Kindley High School in Coffeyville. The internship is conducted in conjunction with the Work Readiness Program at the high school implemented through instructor Kim Harp. The student intern receives credit toward graduation for participating in the internship. During the period covered by this report one (1) student participated in the program, Bryant Colbert, who spent six (6) hours per week at the radio stations from August 28, 2007 through December 31, 2007. During the six (6) hours per week the participating student at the radio stations receives hands-on training in production techniques, basic programming skills and on-air performance. Station personnel involved working with this student included John Leonard, General Manager, Karen Goss, Lance Allred and Ron Curran.

Activites to Fullfill:

In continuing with our supplemental outreach initiative, KGGF-KUSN plans to participate in a job fair with Montgomery County Action Council and Southeast Kansas Human Resources Association during the next EEO reporting period.


KGGF-KUSN will continue on-going internship with Field Kindley High School, with the same inter reported in this EEO period continuing another semester January – May 2008. Possibly next fall another internship.
